GIVE PEACE A CHANCE COALITION (GPAC)

The Give Peace A Chance Coalition (GPAC) is a non-profit community-based organization dedicated to educating the general public, particularly African Americans, on the economic, political and moral ramifications of U.S. foregin policy as it affects Africa and Africans in the Diaspora.

GPAC was incorporated in the District of Columbia in January 2004, as a non-profit educational and research organization. The primary objective of GPAC is "the peaceful resolution of the conflicts occurring in Africa, particularly those in Sudan". In its forums and position papers GPAC seeks to re-shape U.S. policy toward African countries.

Building coalitions among individuals and organizations seeking peaceful soutions in Africa is GPAC's primary purpose and purses this objective through: 1) tours and coordination of fact-find delegations; 2) maintenance of a prominent and timely interactive website - GivePACC.com; 3) design and distribution of educational informational and materials; 4) forums and symposia for discussion of events/activities occurring in Africa and Sudan; 5) preparation and distribution of press and news releases that relate to emerging situations and issues in a timely manner, and 6) coalitions with similarly-oriented individuals and groups.

HODARI ABDUL-ALI is the Executive Director of Give Peace A Chance Coalition (GPAC) Brother Abdul-Ali graduated magna cum laude from Howard University in 1976, where he was the Editor of The Hilltop.

In 2003 and 2005, GPAC lead fact-finding delegations of journalists and community leaders from across the United States to view the situation first hand, and to speak to government, religious and opposition leaders from throughout the country of Sudan. The group visited Khartoum and conflict ridden region of Darfur. They met with government officials, opposition figures, tribal leaders and representatives of international relief organizations.
